Adopt A Shelf

Help us keep our core products available in the pantry

How adopt a shelf works

Stock our Pantry with our most needed items

Adopt a Shelf is a high-impact giving program at Tri-Lakes Cares that enables individuals, families, businesses, and community groups to directly support food security in northern El Paso County. By adopting a shelf—such as cereal, canned chili, flour, or milk—you help ensure that essential food staples are consistently available in our Market for local families and individuals facing food insecurity.

This community-driven approach allows us to meet real-time needs, reduce emergency purchases, and provide dependable access to nutritious food. Reliable access to healthy food is critical for physical health, mental well-being, and long-term stability. According to the USDA, food security is directly linked to improved health outcomes, reduced stress, and enhanced academic and work performance.

When you participate in this program, you’re doing more than restocking pantry items—you’re helping create healthier, more resilient communities. See examples below of how your ongoing support can make a lasting difference.

We Accept In-Kind Donations

If you or your group would rather bring food or essential items directly to our pantry to fill an adopted shelf, schedule a routine drop-off so we know it’s coming.
