 One of 2018’s chefs puts the finishing touches on his creation prior to serving. Local restaurants are challenged to prepare tasty dishes – appetizers, main course, soup, salad, dessert – from a selection of two baskets containing non-perishable ingredients found in our food pantry such as canned corn, pumpkin, mac & cheese, or other surprise ingredients. You are invited to taste their samples, collect their recipes, and talk to the chefs about their restaurants. Based on surveys from attendees last year, changes will be made in the food baskets the chefs receive to encourage more diverse offerings. And, a cash bar will also be available.  Playing one of the many games to learn about Tri-Lakes Cares While mingling with other guests and enjoying the interesting restaurant samples, you can also play various games while learning about the programs and services that Tri-Lakes Cares provides to those in need in our community. Last year, “Pin the Star” on the Christmas Tree highlighting our Giving Tree program and “Race to the Finish Line” featuring our transportation programs were two popular games. But, this year games may change. Each table will give you the chance to win prizes and if you complete your “passport”, then you have another chance to win a prize. This year, we will include small silent auction where you will have the opportunity to bid on some exclusive items including a beautiful necklace from Purple Mountain Jewelry, a ladies watch from Luisa Graff and a northern El Paso golf package, featuring three local golf courses (Country Club at Woodmoor, US Air Force Academy and Kings Deer).
