About the Event
This is a fundraising event to support the mission of Tri-Lakes Cares. Chef Brother Luck will present a brief program, sharing his story of living in poverty before becoming a successful chef. Attendees will be given the opportunity to make a financial gift.As a teenager, Chef Brother Luck fell on hard times when his father passed away at the age of 10. After relocating from the San Francisco Bay Area to Arizona, he enrolled in a vocation school for high school students to learn the culinary arts. The free food was intriguing enough to keep attending the cooking classes and eventually led him to find a passion in the kitchen that would set him on an incredible journey inspired by a love for food and service.
Chefs from local restaurants will offer samples of dishes (savory and/or sweet) prepared from one of two boxes of ingredients typically found in Tri-Lakes Cares’ food pantry. These ingredients are representative of items clients would receive. Chefs are challenged to use their creativity to make tasty items which attendees sample throughout the evening.
Interspersed throughout the restaurant tables, are “game tables” representative of various programs and services TLC provides in the local community. Attendees are invited to play the games, complete a “passport” and have the opportunity to win gift cards provided by the participating restaurants.
Finally, there will be a silent auction with a limited number of exclusive items for bidding. Items include airline tickets, dinner and show certificates for the Boot Barn, and golf packages.
