Tri-Lakes Cares Certified for GED Testing
(December 10, 2008 -- El Paso County, CO) Starting in January 2009, Tri Lakes Cares, a non-profit organization and community resource center that offers assistance to lower-income residents of Northern El Paso County, will be housing the General Educational Development (GED) center.
The GED consists of five multiple-choice tests and a timed essay. The five subject areas covered by the GED are language arts, social studies, science, reading, and mathematics. The test will cost $90 and will be open to those who are 17 years and older. "When someone earns a GED they have made a life changing choice that will alter their life personally and professionally,” said Test Administrator/Chief Examiner, Ted Belteau.
The first year of operation for the Northern El Paso County GED Testing Center is made possible because of the generous donation from Fluke Networks.
Tri-Lakes Cares was approved as a testing center in 2008 by the Colorado Department of Education. For testing dates and other GED information, contact Ted Belteau at 719.481.4864, ext. 100 or go to www.tri-lakescares.org.
